I’ve got a whole buncha forms I need to fill in to get paid by Student Life. Then there is the applications for things like a PO Box, Credit Card, Personal Loan, Bike License and other such things.
Plus I’ll be moving very soon, and I’m sure every man and his dog will need a change of address type form.
Got my dad a new 200gb hard drive for Fathers Day. Of course Win2k didn’t like it, so I had to use my new ubuntu DVD to partition and such.
The good bit is that I’m taking the old 80gb hard drive for my machine, which I’ll be installing ubuntu linux on. I’m doing it cos I’m 1337, and need to change distros every 6 months just for fun.
- The PSP comes out in Australia on September 1st.
- I get my first full pay from teaching on September 1st.
This could end very badly….
In other news, I’m about to trek all the way to Crows Nest. I haven’t driven any further than the local shops in a while, so hopefully I haven’t lost my 1337 driving skillz.
So how did they ever invent cricket. It seems about as likely to happen as a fox being chased by a pack of one-legged hunting tortoises has of being caught. Oh well.
I also find it interesting how pretty much any american I talk to knows who Campus Crusade is. Like Ashley from North Carolina who was in one of my classes today.
Anyway, I’m starting to pimp crusade as good as Geoff. But I have a bit of a wider range of recruitment than Geoff’s Club Mac thing. mmm…. recruitment ;-)
Podcasting is just a way to get cool young people listening to talk radio isn’t it? I’d assume that targeting an aging demographic (like ABC Radio National does) would be slowly killing their ratings (pun intended). Arrgghhh!!!! It’s all a plot, a ploy to start us getting old…..
Tomorrow will be my first unofficially offical on campus day. It’s still unofficial as there are things that aren’t finalised yet (like me getting paid), but I will be around, and attending staff meetings and such.
Also this blog has been inundated with spam comments, so I’ve turned on the new “word verification” system for comments. Just stop people pimping crap in my comments and making mew think something is happening (like people reading this blog)
And I mean that. If anyone says I shouldn’t express my view on something, I usually yell louder. Especially if the medium in question is one in which the point is open discussion of viewpoints.
Note: this rant is in no way connected to my last post.
I can’t say anything until it’s all official, but it’s been rumoured that I’ll be continuing to work with the Uni part time as a prac demonstrator, and I’ll also be working part time with Student Life & Campus Crusade.
Or at least thats the rumour.
This would mean that I’d be on campus doing ministry 1 day a week, and in the Crusade office at silverwater 1 day a week. It would also mean getting paid. Hypothetically of course, because it’s not yet official.
Stay tuned for a big announcement…. to quote someone involved “I just have to check the legality of it”.
In other news, the column for this week is half-done, the outline is all written, I just need to flesh it out into something more than point form. It seems that late arvo prac classes give me ample time to write theological ideas down.
For the students anyway, just telling them to work on their assignments. Yay. And now that they’ve all realised the lack of work anf compulsory attendance they’ve basically all left by half way.
Which is good, cos it means I get paid to sit on my butt, surfing the web and posting to my blog, but it does increase the boredom.
I can’t wait til I get 6 hours of this on thursday.
In other news, I visited Ryde Reformed Church yesterday. Very good, for what it is. And by that I mean it had awesome preaching (even the Engels scale of evangelism got a look in), but the music was knda boring. It was very well done, even Shine Jesus Shine, but I’m guessing the morning will have much more old hymns, rather than the “contemporary” songs of the evening. But at least they weren’t trying to punch above their weight and do music that the musicians don’t have the skills to do. It could of done with a rhythm section to complement the piano and acoustic guitar, but the pianist was very skilled.
Nice people, decent enough instant coffee, and they do approach you and talk to you (I even got a free lift to the station). I’ll visit the morning service next week, just to get a good overall feel of the church, it’s demographic and size. But overall it was good.
