so it is with great sadness that I announce that we have agreed that Dan will finish with Student Life/CCCA at the end of semester. The reason for Dan discontinuing his ministry is the unlikelihood of him raising much support from his present networks. The timing of Dan’s finish is still to be worked out, and Dan may make it to MYC, but that is just details.
Yep. Me = unemployed.
yeah, it’s over now
but i can breathe somehow
when it’s all worn out
i’d rather go without
you know it’s been on my mind
could you stand right here
look me straight in the eye and say
that it’s over now
we pay our debt sometime
well it’s over now
yet i can see somehow
when it’s all gone wrong
it’s hard to be so strong
we pay our debt sometime
guess it’s over now
i seem alive somehow
when it’s out of sight
just wait and do your time
you know it’s been on my mind
could i stand right here
look myself in the eyes, and say
that it’s over now
we pay our debt sometime
Alice in Chains this time…. I think the unplugged version is the most appropriate for the circumstances.
Random fact: Alice in Chains is one of the bands that the Chili Peppers do the style of in their latest film clip (the acoustic guitars and candles bit)
I won’t pay, I won’t pay ya, no way
na-na, Why don’t you get a job?
Say no way, say no way ya, no way
na-na, why don’t you get a job?
Well…. thats probably not too cryptic….
I feel helpless, waiting
Could this all be the end?
It’s coming down all at once
Am I losing you?
(No way out)
Until this all crashes down, I’ll hold on
Into the darkness, not knowing at all
Are you out there waiting,
Wondering about me?
I’ve never felt so, alone
As I do now
(No way out)
Until this all crashes down, I’ll hold on
Into the darkness, not knowing at all
Hold on to me
Until this all crashes down, I’ll hold on
Into the darkness, not knowing at all
Some non-random Kittie lyrics….
the meaning of which will become clear….
But at least my nemesis is crashing into the same darkness….
I feel a big long rant coming on…. but not yet. Basically I’ve been feeling that the contemporary idea of church is too individualistic and strips away too much of the spiritual realities of what church should be. For example, the idea of “singing some songs” versus “corporate worship of god thru song”. It might look the same, but the reason why is different….
