Playable on Deth

So…. I used to be a big P.O.D. fan back in my brainwashed era.

Listening to them again (since I get to see them live next week) I find that I like a lot of the same songs now that used to like. Mostly the ones with attitude….

Even if I no longer agree with the message that they are preaching, I prefer the ones with a message to the average and generic positive vibe stuff…. i.e. I don’t like alot of what was released as singles and made me pay less attention near the end of my brainwashed era.

As for what I do like….

Stuff like “The Messenjah” (from their Satellite ablum) which is totally explicitly evangelical, plus it has a fat groove.

Along similar lines…. “Without Jah, Nothin” from the same album

Then there is a song like “Hollywood” (from Fundamental Elements of Southtown), which is not evangelical, but a good anti-selling out song

Or “Find My Way” from Payable On Death

The new song “Addicted” from their new album When Angels & Serpents Dance seems to show a return to what I liked about them….

As does “Lights Out” from Testify…. but the other single from that album was their boring generical stuff.

And finally…. my favourite P.O.D. song…. Whatever It Takes….
