P.S. Bonus points will be awarded to anyone who can name the song that starts with the scream of “Zeppelin!!!” that I used as the only blurb for the song on chaotimusic.com
<---- That is basically what I'll be doing for the upcoming fortnight.
I are serious dan….
Seriously…. I’ll be doing a lot of guitar holding, and even some playing….
I have a bunch of songs in some state of being written that I want to record, sure some may just be just a “big idea”…. but that’s not the point.
I have an interview/audition at JMC Academy, with the aim of doing some extreme-level study of guitar and stuff.
I might get a chance to develop some of my other projects…. there is my other website (not chaotimusic.com), and then there is this idea I’ve had -> which may involve some kind of “computer programming”…. These things are kinda the bottom of the list, and some other stupid things may get in the way.

“It’s as though he wanted, not to impose order on chaos, but to incorporate chaos into the ordered perfection of his art”
Talking about Mr Frank Zappa…. from this article on guitarworld.com

I’ll be there.
It’ll also be International Talk Like A Pirate Day…. So…. arrrrrh! Avast! And this parrots not dead….

Taken from the article Dime’s Dozen – Pantera’s six-shooting Texas tornado, Dimebag Darrell, names the 12 fist- pumping metal classics that every self- respecting guitarist should know.
“I love Hammett’s lead playing, but Hetfield’s rhythm playing is truly phenomenal. He’s the god of chugging riffs, and ‘Motorbreath’ is a good example of tight, chunky, galloping speed playing. Man, when I first head that song, I didn’t know what it was! It was so heavy, but real clean. That song really taught me how to play clean, driving rhythms.
“I don’t know any guitarist that can down-pick like Hetfield, and ‘Motorbreath’ is a prime example of his expertise. I don’t down-pick as much as I use the up-stroke, mainly because I just can’t down-pick like Hetfield.”
I learnt Motorbreath as my first Metallica song, just after getting a guitar, to try powerlevel my downpicked riffage skill.
Check out my new cover version over at chaotimusic.com to see how my skillz hold up.
And if you ask nicely I might cover some Pantera…. or anything else you might ask for….
Graphic down-picked from here

[insert tom roll here]
I just put up my cover version of this Metallica classic over on my website.
My version is a little different, since I added some of my trademark keyboards…. and I sing a little different to young hetfield…. and my lead guitar style…. well… its my style and as much as kirk was an influence, I’m not a note-for-note type player, I always play things my own way.
Go and check it out, and read my blurb there for more about why I chose Motorbreath over the other Metallica songs I can play (spoiler alert: the words “kicking it oldskool” are involved)

- Stephen Fry talking about gnu’s and free software
- Gigs can be fun, but I don’t like people who go to just mosh. Call me old, but I’d prefer to be able see and hear things, not just get beat up.
- No gig will ever stand up to my cherry-popping experience…. Pantera + CoC was way too good a lineup for any gig afterwards to compete.
- We have entered Metallica Month. Death Magnetic comes out in a week.

“For project studios not requiring (or desiring) a subwoofer in their mix setup, the VXT 8 offers a great solution featuring an eight-inch woofer made from woven Kevlar and a one-inch silk dome Ferrite tweeter. [Note: we don’t advise shooting bullets at the woofers as this will certainly void the warranty. Also, no ferrets were harmed in the manufacture of the tweeters.]“
